The existing entry door, in this Yorba Linda home, was a standard 36″ x 80″ with side window. There was a continous header over a bearing wall (not all exterior walls support the roof load they may, as in this case, just support the interior and exterior ceiling joists) that allowed us to put in a door with double sidelights.
The new pre-hung frame had to fit within the confines of the existing house trim, so we had the manufacturer build the new door to our specifications. It is a fiberglass entry door system, Craftsman style with Fir grain and dentil shelf. It was finished at the factory with stains that are formulated just for fiberglass and baked on for longevity and that professional look.
